Frequently Asked Questions
1. How does it work?
When you change the amount of light entering the yellow Photocell, you will get different sound effects. The small built-in speaker does not emit a lot of volume. All my XLPC THEREMINS are built to be used with an Amp. You can use your hands or any other object to adjust the amount of light entering the Photocell, or you can purchase the MOTORIZED XLPC THEREMIN, which will give you more control and added sound effects. The MOTORIZED unit has a Pulse Motor Control, which allows you to adjust the Effects Disc to hover, wiggle or pass over the Photocell at slow or fast speed. The Motor Circuit has it’s own battery power, so it won’t draw from the Photocell Circuit.
2. How do I change the batteries?
To change the batteries on all my XLPC THEREMINS rest the units on their side, so the components on top of the unit will not be damaged. Using a # 1 Phillipshead screwdriver carefully remove the 4 small screws on the corners of the unit. Lay the base flat and change batteries, replace the base and the 4 screws being careful not to overtighten.
3. Do you have a Guarantee?
All my XLPC products are built for you by me. I will repair, replace or refund your purchase if you are not satisfied completely. If you happen to accidentally damage an XLPC I will repair it for you for an agreeable fee plus s&h. Contact djssell@verizon.net for repairs and all general theremin questions.
